I bet I have more watches than Paul…
我的錶應該比保羅那隻章魚多…

These are the watches that I wear these days… None of them are really expensive, only one costs more than my chair, but I think they all look pretty good~~ I actually have more watches, but… I can’t find a couple of them, and some of them had finished their service and are living the rest of their days somewhere in my closet.P1030256 
這些是我現在有在戴的錶… 都不會很貴, 只有一隻比我的椅子貴, 但是我覺得都很有型~~ 其實我還有更多的錶, 不過有幾隻我找不到, 還有幾隻在櫃子裏面享受他們退休的生活.

Both solar powered, both radio controlled multi band atomic timing thing…
Citizen has both home city and world city as well as UTC on it.
Casio can display two time zones, but it’s suppose to withstand 6Gs or was it 15? designed for the Red Bull Air Race, or… was it some guy in the Air Race wearing this… I can’t remember, and I don’t care… I don’t think 744 can take that many Gs… it’ll automatically disassemble itself way before reaching 15Gs…

Citizen 這隻可以顯示兩地時間加上UTC標準時間
Casio 這隻只有兩地時間, 不過他主打什麼可以抗6個G還是15個G… 好像是為了Red Bull Air Race設計的錶, 還是某個Air Race的駕駛有戴著隻… 管他的, 不重要… 400要拉到15個G… 拜託, 早就解體了…

Luminox displays day only, but it’s got the self-powered micro gas lights, so it stays illuminated 24 hrs a day~

這兩隻也是石英錶. Skagen這隻是碳纖維的錶面, Luminox是碳纖維塑鋼的錶殼~
Skagen 可以顯示兩地時間, 也有日期跟星期
Luminox 這隻只有日期, 不過他有微發光管, 所以他24小時都會發亮~

Both are automatic movement, and both are suppose to be pilot watches.
The BC4 is limited edition with a unique 24hr display, the big crown adjusts the outer rim for a second time zone.
The BC3 is a classic, simple in design with day/date, my first automatic watch, had it for almost 8 years?

BC4 這隻是Blue Eagle限量款, 有著特別的24小時的顯示, 還有外圈可以調整第二地時間.
BC3 這隻是經典, 我的第一支機械錶, 買了有8年了吧~

I still need a LA cargo flight back to Taiwan….

I finally get to go back to LA this month… got my iPad cover, card reader, and watches, but I still need a cargo flight to bring my golf clubs back lah!!!

終於飛到了一個LA班, 回去拿到了我的iPad原廠套, 讀卡機, 還有手錶.  高爾夫球桿… 等貨機吧…

Since Kevin is busy moving, I rented a car for the day~~

I rented a Smart Passion, it was not until much later in the day that I realized… the roof goes all the way down…

It’s quite nice to drive, despite the fact that the gear box shifts in ultra slow mode, but other than that, you don’t really feel like you’re driving a tiny car, especially since the steering, gas pedal and breaks are quite heavy.

At high speeds (the speedometer goes up to 100, but being a law abiding citizen, I didn’t test to see if it goes over that…) the car feels quite nimble and sturdy. I’d never buy one, but it’s fun as a rental~

Oh yeah, it comes with a 5-gear semi-auto gear box… why? I don’t know… cuz even if you shift with the shift paddles, it’s still in ultra slow mode, takes like a whole second to shift into next gear…

租了一台新的Smart, 還是敞篷的咧, 不過我一直到下午才知道那個蓬可以一直開到後面去… 這台車開起來其實感覺還滿穩的, 高速公路上面也不會覺得飄, 雖然錶上面是到100mph, 不過因為我是個守法的好公民, 所以我沒有試他可不可以超過100… 這個小車其實還滿好玩的, 除了換檔頓挫感非常嚴重之外, 其他都還不錯, 就算用換檔撥片自己換檔, 也是…  我自己是不會買這個車啦, 不過租來玩玩還不錯~

We got 50 wings to share among the 7 of us, so we can choose up to 5 different sauces/seasonings. Ranges from Smilin’, Sizzlin’ to Screamin’~~~

Left to right, Mango Habanero, Honey Barbeque, Parmesan Garlic, Asian Zing, and Blazin’
The mango habanero was pretty good, not very spicy with a touch of mango sweetness.
Honey barbeque was good too, honey barbeque is always good~
Parmesan garlic was a little too salty for me, but it’s still not bad.
Asian zing is kinda like the Thai chili sauce, actually, it probably was~
Blazin’, well, it was spicy, but it won’t kill you. You’ll be fine after a couple of minutes~

左到右: 芒果哈巴內落辣椒, 蜂蜜烤肉醬, 帕米森起司大蒜, 亞洲XX, 火焰辣
這個芒果的那個滿好吃的, habanero是很辣的辣椒, 不過有了芒果的甜, 所以辣度就沒有那麼高了.
蜂蜜烤肉醬就是蜂蜜烤肉醬~~
帕米森起司比較鹹, 我覺得有點太鹹, 但是味道不錯~
亞洲XX應該就是泰式的那種甜酸辣醬~
最後這個是最辣的, 不過還不至於辣整晚, 過幾分鐘就好了~

The fried pickles was interesting, but it was too salty for me… good thing we had 7 people to share~
Nachos are nothing out of the ordinary… Next time I’ll order more wings~
Onion rings are pretty good, big fat sweet onion rings, yum~

醃黃瓜還滿好吃的, 不過他有點太鹹了, 還好有七個人分~
Nachos, 不怎樣, 還是多點幾隻翅膀來吃比較好~
洋蔥圈, 美國洋蔥都是甜的, 所以怎麼會不好吃咧~ (當然還是有難吃的…)

我要辦常訪香港旅客的那個卡…

Arriving late in Kowloon last night, was planning on going to Frites in Central to have some mussels and Belgium beer, but They only open till 12 am, and last order is at 11pm… Good thing we called before we got on the taxi~ So, Plan B… Hing Kei in Tsim Sha Tsui on Nathan Road across from Kowloon Park.
昨天到了旅館都已經快10點了, 本來要去中環那邊的Frites 吃點淡菜還有喝啤酒, 結果沒有想到他們12點就打烊, 11點之後就不能點菜了… 還好我們上計程車前先打了電話去問… 所以就改成B計畫囉~ 改去彌敦道上的避風塘興記吃螃蟹~

There was Annie, Cousin Wong, his colleague, and me. None of us were really hungry, so we didn’t order a lot. So here it is.
我們總共四個人, Annie, 王堂哥, 他同事小媽, 還有我, 不過因為我們都沒有很餓, 所以就沒有點很多囉~

This is the combo plate, had six different things in it. There was obviously, Squid, Chinese Broccoli, Pig stomach, intestine, tongue, and jelly fish. Turns out, none of them eat innards… so I got to enjoy it myself~

這個是六小福 – 魷魚, 菜心, 海蜇皮, 豬肚, 豬舌, 豬腸. 然後搞了半天, 他們居然都不吃內臟…
所以就我一個人慢慢吃啦~

We also ordered a bowl of congee, it’s got pretty much everything in the appetizer combo in it… and peanuts.. hahaha~
The pitcher contains yam and water chestnut, I thought it was good, sweet, kinda tastes like sugarcane juice~ But apparently, I’m the only one that thinks it’s good, cuz I pretty much finished the whole thing by myself…

我們還點了一碗艇仔粥, 還有甘蔗水, 甘蔗水裡面就是地瓜還有馬蹄, 然後也只有我一個人覺得不錯,
所以, 好像都是我一個人喝完的~~

Cousin Wong wanted to have clams, so we had clams~ This was stir fried with fermented soy beans and chili~ Good stuff~

一筆沙要吃蜆, 所以就叫了一個豉椒炒蜆. 沙吐得乾淨, 調味也不錯~

And finally, the famous crab~ This is not the usual type stir fried with fried garlic, I’m not even sure what the heck is the black thing… Since I didn’t really have any cuz I’m too lazy to pick out the meat… hahaha~ but of the little piece I had, it was good too~

這個是他們有名的古法避風塘炒蟹. 說真的, 我不曉得哪個黑黑的是什麼, 因為我懶惰, 我不想剝殼, 不想把手弄髒, 所以我只有吃一小塊. 不過雖然只有吃一小塊, 我可以跟你說, 他還真的滿好吃的咧~

Sunday Lunch we went to Lei Garden, one of the restaurants that received a Michelin Star last year. We didn’t go to the one that has the star, we went to the one at Elements instead, thinking that it would be impossible to get a seat at the starred restaurant.

禮拜天中餐吃的是利苑. 去年他們得到了米其林的星星, 不過不是我們去的這家啦, 因為我想那家應該擠到爆炸… 所以我們選擇了在Elements裡面的這家.

Can anyone tell me why there are two sets of chopsticks? One to get the food on your plate, and one to get the food on your plate to your mouth?

This is Jet’s favorite. It’s got the golden lava like filling made with eggs and cream and salted duck egg yolks. I’m not really sure how it compares to the others I’ve had before cuz I can’t really remember what the others tasted like.. but it’s good, and I think Jet would like this one too.

Today was 豆豆’s 10-month birthday
今天是豆豆的十個月生日

Tonight we went to The Sherwood Hotel for dinner, and the theme for July and August at B-One is American Beef~ In addition to regular stuff they have at the buffet, there’s also roast beef, shabu-shabu Wagyu beef and steamed crimson crab (or spanner crab). I could careless for the crab, but I love beef~~~
今天的晚餐我們去的是西華飯店的B-One,  他們七八月的主題是美國牛肉~ 所以除了他們平常那一堆菜色之外, 現在有烤牛肉, 美國極黑牛, 還有旭蟹. 我不是很愛旭蟹, 不過我愛美國牛肉~~~~

Since Jet, Nicole, Ann, and David were on their way back to civilization from Tai-Dong, Ryan and Ariel in Xin-Zhu, tonight is just Alan, Annie, 豆豆, Jay, and me. When I made the reservation, they know that there will be a kid with us, so they were nice enough to set up a baby chair and a set of colorful plastic utensils for 豆豆~

Jet, Nicole, Ann 跟 David 都還在從台東回台北的天空上, Ryan 跟 Ariel 跑去新竹, 所以今天只有Alan, Annie, 豆豆, Jay, 還有我. 我定位的時候有跟他們說會有個小朋友, 所以我們到的時候他們已經準備好了小孩椅, 還有一套塑膠的餐具給豆子咬/丟/摔/敲/玩~

豆豆 here is pointing at the ceiling lights, cuz now he actually understands “lights”, so when you say lights to him, he starts to look and point at all the lights~ Smart boy~

豆子現在聽得懂”電燈”, 所以當他娘說電燈的時候, 他就會抬頭把所有的他看得到的電燈指一遍~

OK, food. The roast beef was oven roasted, but has a slight smoky flavor to it, I guess they roast it with woodchips? From their website, it says that they use a chunk of New York Strip, so it doesn’t has as much fat as rib eyes, but they did a good job and kept it medium rare, oh yum! They do offer two sauces, a mushroom gravy and a black pepper sauce. I just sprinkled some sea salt on it, and it was great~~ So I would recommend to use sea salt only, maybe a bit pepper, but that’s it, unless… unless you don’t like the smell of beef… but then again, if you don’t like beef, then don’t even go and waste your money.. haha ~

今天的主題是牛肉, 這個是烤牛肉, 帶著一點炭烤煙燻的味道, 我喜歡~ 這塊他們說是紐約客牛排, 所以沒有肋眼那麼多肥油, 但是他們烤的大概3-4分熟, 剛剛好~ 他們有提供蘑菇醬還有黑胡椒醬, 不過我是只有撒一點海鹽就很好吃了~ 所以我建議吃原味~ 除非… 你不喜歡牛肉的味道… 但是如果你不喜歡吃牛肉, 你也不用去了… 浪費錢… 哈~

The Waygu beef was done by placing thinly sliced raw beef and pour piping hot soup on top~ It’s just like Pho!~~ hahaha ~ The beef was tender and sweet, the soup was nice too~ but I think as more customers poured in, they forgot to add salt to the soup, but I thought it was still good~~

這個美國極黑牛的作法是把生的肉片, 應該是牛小排, 放在碗裡, 然後用滾燙的牛肉湯倒上去把它燙熟, 跟越南河粉一樣~~~ 湯很好喝, 肉很嫩, 不過除了第一碗的湯之外, 其他好像似乎因為人越來越多, 他們忘記放鹽… 不過我覺得這樣更好, 可以吃到牛肉的甜, 而且那個湯其實不太需要調味, 已經很鮮了~

The crab was fresh, but I don’t really like to eat crabs that are not Dungeness crabs, snow crabs, or king crabs… cuz it’s just too much work… Unless I’m having them at home, cuz otherwise, it takes so much time to eat it and your hands will get dirty… hahahah~ There’s also lamb chops, pork ribs, sushi, nigiri, shirmps, sashimi, and a bunch of other stuff. Oh, the stir fried pumpkin rice noodles was good too~ I didn’t take pictures of any of the other stuff though… So you’ll just have to go and check it yourself~

OK, 旭蟹還滿新鮮的, 不過螃蟹裡面我比較喜歡吃的只有唐金蟹, 鱈場蟹, 還有帝王蟹, 因為其他的… 都太麻煩了… 除非是在家慢慢吃, 不然餐廳裡面還會吃的一整手的味道… 其實其他還有羊排, 豬肋排, 生魚片, 蝦子, 什麼有的沒的一大堆. 喔, 他們的金瓜米粉還不錯~ 不過其他的我都沒有照相, 所以要看就自己去吃吧~

最近豆子學會了一面吸拇指, 一面用同一隻手的食指挖鼻孔~~ 真是才華洋溢阿~ 他以後一定會拯救地球維護宇宙和平的~~~
